EDF Denmark has announced the acquisition of SustainRecharge, a provider of charging stations across Denmark. This acquisition marks an important step in EDF Denmark’s strategic ambition to expand its presence and strengthen its position in electric vehicle (EV) charging.
The acquisition of SustainRecharge is part of EDF’s long-term plan to increase its portfolio in renewable energy and the electrification of the transport sector. With this acquisition, EDF continues to position itself as a global leader in the green transition.
“We want to offer the market an even broader selection of charging station locations across Denmark and look forward to serving more current and future EV drivers with our innovative solutions,” said Henrik Rasmussen, CEO of EDF Denmark.
SustainRecharge is known for its open platform and competitive pricing without subscriptions, making it a popular provider among Danish EV drivers. With charging stations located throughout the country, EDF Denmark aims to make it easy and flexible to charge an electric vehicle, no matter where you are. With EDF Denmark’s acquisition of SustainRecharge, EDF once again confirms that market insight and timing are key in an energy sector undergoing rapid change.
Christian Niepoort, CEO of Sustain, said: “We are proud that with SustainRecharge, we have developed a concept and portfolio of locations that an international market leader like EDF sees great potential in further developing. The timing has been perfect, and our charging customers are now becoming part of a global player with a strong presence in the energy sector. This agreement also opens up new collaboration opportunities, allowing us to share our valuable experience with green mobility through our consulting business. SustainRecharge locations will have the best growth conditions under the new ownership, benefiting charging customers in particular, and we look forward to following the continued development.”
EDF Denmark will continue to operate SustainRecharge’s charging stations under the existing brand and platform, while working on integrating the two companies to deliver even more innovative and user-friendly solutions to the market.
